2008 Breaking News! Sabrina & Sabestian have been adopted by a loving, caique oriented family. All monies donated towards Sabrina & Sebastian for the year 2008 are going towards funding for other birds in the foundations adoption programming.
2008 Update: We are once again collecting donations for another years sponsorship of Sabrina and Sebastian. We have so far collected $80 and have $100 more to go. If you are interested in donating, please contact the site administrator or follow the directions on the bottom of this page.
Caique Crazy [dot] org., recently took on our first community project. As a website of caique enthusiasts, we realize the importance of giving back to the avian community. When we learned about a pair of Yellow Thigh (white bellied) caiques that were in need of sponsorship at The Gabriel Foundation, our community pulled together to sponsor these birds. We raised enough money to sponsor the caiques for one year, the cost being $180 annually.
The Gabriel Foundation is a rescue/sanctuary/education center in Colorado. Birds placed in their care are assessed, and according to owner wishes, temperament of bird, and/or health, are placed in the sanctuary program as a permanent resident or put up for adoption. Potential owners are required to take a basic bird care class and abide by TGF policies.
Sabrina and Sebastian are currently in care of The Gabriel Foundation, waiting to be adopted. Until that time, TGF is asking for sponsors to cover in part the birds expenses. This is where our Caique Crazy Community steps in. We have agreed to sponsor the birds annually until they are moved to their forever home.
If you are interested in contributing to the TGF caiques, you can help by:
Contacting the admin of Caique Crazy Forums, and send money to the paypal account specifically set up for this cause. All donations, per the 501(c)3 status are tax deductible.
Or, you can donate directly to The Gabriel Foundation yourself. Locate the ‘sanctuary bird’ link on the homepage, and follow the directions to donate. When donating, you will be asked to fill out a form asking which birds the money will help. Please specify the caiques- Sabrina & Sebastian. Also please note that you are donating in conjunction with the efforts of Caique Crazy [dot] org.
